The residential was designed to support those who want to be away from the usual distractions and temptations- I’ve always loved the effect of having a ‘captive audience’ when it comes to nutrition- its when there is no shop or tuck shop or friends lunch box or even television advertisements to sabotage your health plans. Wattle Grove fits the bill- its too far to walk to the nearest store and the scenery just begs for long leisurely walks or even a swim in the nearby Huon River.
We started off small- with only 3 guests accessing my undivided attention. The plan going forward however is to build cabins at the top of the property to house additional guests and allied professionals.
As you would be aware GAPS incorporates lifestyle and environmental components which we were able to implement at Wattle Grove. The house and property are all chemical free, personal care products were restricted to natural products and educational sessions enables participants to utilise colonics as required. Having access to additional therapies was great- having an in-home massage with soothing music and oils was a delight.
